Anyway, the car itself was immaculate, and before we left home we had pretty much settled on our tactic of how we would nit pick, and go over the car with an eager eagle eye to try and dishearten the seller and get them to lower the price (ie the tried and tested haggling technique).
Unfortunately that particular technique will only work if the car does have minor issues. To say that we were stuck for words, and dumbstruck is an understand. The plans we had formulated to try and knock down the price went out the window. Trying very hard to put on our poker face, and show our lack of interest, we half heartedly tried to disagree and nit pick. It was pretty obvious we were nit picking just for the sake of it. The final nail in the coffin for our tactic was the test drive, if there was going to be something that we could find fault with - this was surely the most opportune moment.
Needless to say, the 15 minute test drive completely destroyed what was left of our resolve. Our resistance so utterly destroyed, we took a few minutes (formality really) to agree on a price. Having done and dusted the deal, I got back home and decided that buying a car was my next priority...
Let's hope that I don't capitulate as easily!
