It starts today..

Thank God! After what seems like ages, the Premiership starts today. Last week's Community Shield and the midweek England international against Greece has only increased my appetite for more. While Manchester United are not involved until tomorrow (Sun 20th Aug 2006), it will be interesting to see how the break and the World Cup 2006 has affected other teams.

A lot has been made of Chelsea's forays in the transfer market. And no doubt they are quality signings (Shevchenkov, Ballack, Mikel and possibly Boulahourz). BUT, what a lot of commentators seem to forget when they wax lyrical about Chelsea, is that you can only play with 11 men! I think this season will actually be a lot closer. Both Manchester United and the Scousers have strengthened, and even the Gunners (should they lose Ashley Cole and Reyes) still have a pretty decent squad.

So what do I reckon? I don't know to be honest! My heart says Manchester United, but my head says Chelsea. But we will see as they season unfolds.
